Katrina Killed the Elderly in Higher Numbers

Nearly 40% of the people killed in Hurricane Katrina were 71 or older. NPR reports age played a major role in survival. NPR also reported last week that it appears the aftershocks of Katrina continue to kill and maim the elderly -- six months later. (NPR-Audio)
